Having waterline deposit issues?

out here in the valley, we have very hard water out of the tap.  Calcium or alkaline build is always a constant issue.  it can be visually upsetting. best way to get rid of that and stop it from forming so quickly is here...

best way to approach doing it yourself are a few steps...
-if the build up is thick, reduce it down as best you can with a flat surfaced putty knife, and scrape as much as your can down to what would be a film.

-once you get it down to a thin film around the waterline, we recommend using a product called biodex 300.  it is a gel type product that helps get rid of the white film around the pool. like anything it will take a little bit of elbow grease.  start off in 3 ft sections, applying the gel to the affected area, let sit for 5-8 minutes. then take an coarse acid pad, putting a little more of the biodex on it.  brush the area until no more white film is present. rinse the area with fresh hose water! do not use the pool water to rinse it off, you will cloud the tile right back up.

-repeat these steps until you have done the perimeter of the pool line.

-once all is clean and looking great from your hard work, a few things you can do to keep that calcium from forming quickly.  every week, brush your tile line with your nylon brush and tile soap. also you can get a product called beautec "the purple stuff" which is a preventative maintenance for calcium build up, in which your add monthly or twice a year.

these are just our opinions of how to take care of your tile and to keep away that nasty white build up.

this will be the first of many help topics we all face with pool ownership. the good, the bad, and the well weird that will happen with a pool.

take care and hope this helps!

I like your pool tips. My pool has been cracked for years. I need it fixed.
